Dontyne has published the results of some recent R&D (on Non-Involute Designs) in this years Transmission Technology Magazine.
The work on non-Involute designs necessitated custom software development and the design and construction of custom back-to-back test rig for testing ratios 2.5 to 3.5 common in EV designs.
The results of the work shows non-Involute can have several times the durability of Involute design, but an alternative approach would be to reduce weight for the same life.
The combined services of Dontyne Gears can allow us to work on projects internally or for our clients up to Technical Readiness Level (TRL) 6 for new gearbox designs.
